Day 3

Waking up, I noticed that I could bend my leg just a little bit more. Sure, I still had to sleep like Frankenstein, and put a pillow under my leg, but it hadn't gotten worse from one day to the next, which makes me feel better.

I got to take off the ace bandage and see my right knee for the first time since the surgery!

I also was able to take my first shower after the surgery. It was bit tenuous getting around the shower without anything to hold on to, but it felt good to use that newfangled thing called "soap". No longer would I have the hair of a flood victim or the greasy skin of a teenage slacker who had vegetated in front of a sofa for three days straight.

I still can't stand on my operated leg due to the swelling, which makes the ordinary rituals next to the sink an irritating exercise for my good leg.
